Here’s my story
I’ve been writing professionally for close to 20 years now, and honestly, this career didn’t even start the way most people expect. Writing wasn’t some lifelong dream or childhood passion. It happened by accident — and turned into something I never let go of.
It all started when a friend asked me to write a simple article about energy consumption for a three-bedroom apartment in the UK. Nothing fancy. Just practical guidance. I went all in, did proper research, laid everything out clearly, added visuals and infographics, and explained the topic like I was talking to a friend. He was impressed. Really impressed. That one article turned into paid work, then more work, and before I knew it, writing stopped being “something I tried once” and started looking like a real career.
I was successful in landing projects on freelancing platforms because my cover letter targeted the pain point of clients rather than bragging about my expertise. One of my early European clients offered me a large contract, and that opened the floodgates. I worked through freelancing platforms for a while, picked up clients from all over the world — the US, UK, Europe, China, and even Japan.
The first niche I chose was tech.
A big reason it clicked so fast is that I was already tech-savvy. Gadgets, TVs, smartphones, iOS/Android devices, AirPods, earbuds, apps — I lived and breathed this stuff.
Then comes SaaS, especially for online and offline digital products.
I studied the basics and advanced terms and the professional use of video editing software, and, later on, video/photo/audio generators, AI platforms, and other digital products/online tools. So when I started writing, I wasn’t learning topics from scratch. I was explaining things I already knew, using a natural, friendly, talkative tone that people actually enjoyed reading.
That tone turned out to be my biggest strength. I was (and still am) able to talk to the reader in a way that they understand in layman’s terms, and didn’t have to search online for other reference material for the same content. My clients loved that tone, and my profile was always shown at the top as the tech writer.
In the meantime, I also worked in the business, consulting, crypto, photography, home improvement, and many other niches and got great feedback, too, especially because I was able to match the tone according to each niche.
However, I eventually realized these freelancing platforms are restricting my potential and always lean in favor of clients, not the people doing the work. Even a client who is new to the freelancing platform can submit false accusations against you and mess up your profile. These are the two reasons I stepped away. The best bit? All of my clientele from these freelancing platforms trusted me, contacted me directly, and they have all been with me for years now.

But there was a catch.
I had to be someone who runs a business, so I thought like a businessman. I trained writers, hired them, and found new clients.
I emailed companies. Sent portfolios. Showed real samples. One thing led to another. Big names started reaching out. I’ve written for brands like CapCut, HitPaw, and even Adobe, and these companies don’t hire average writers. And the work hasn’t slowed down since.
When AI tools entered the picture, a lot of writers struggled. Detection tools flagged their content. Tones felt off. Everything started sounding the same. For me, it was the opposite. My writing style was already human, conversational, and grounded long before AI became mainstream. That shift didn’t hurt me, but on the flip side, it helped me stand out even more.
Even now, I’m still learning constantly. Tools evolve. Platforms update. CapCut changes features. HitPaw rolls out new products. TikTok adjusts its ecosystem. I stay on top of it all because I genuinely enjoy this space. I still work late. I still test products. I still break things down until they make sense to real people.
And I don’t limit myself to one niche.
If it exists and needs to be explained clearly, there’s a good chance I’ve already done it. And if I haven’t, I’ll figure it out fast — that’s never been a problem.
At the end of the day, my goal is simple: I get the job done every time. No fluff. No fake tone. Just content that sounds like a real person who actually understands what they’re talking about.
